Cooking with Chef Savuth

Enjoy a morning or afternoon learning all about the Khmer kitchen and its ingredients. Cambodian food may not have the reputation of its neighbors, but chefs around the world know very well how special this cuisine is. Together with Chef Savuth, you discover ingredients you may have never heard of at a local market on the outskirts of town. Buy your ingredients and bring them back to The Kamaya where you start a private and professional cooking class in an intimate setting.

Become a Khmer Artist

Inscribed in 2008 on the list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, Sbek Thom is Cambodia’s shadow theatre performance art. During this workshop held at The Kamaya, you learn to create your own shadow puppet figure(s). The original puppets used in the performing art are up to two metres tall, but during this class you learn the fine techniques of creating smaller figures. After the craft class, you may choose to enjoy an actual show at Bambu Stage*. The class takes in total 4 hours and is a real fun family activity.

Private Tours

The tours you can choose from at The Kamaya are specially designed for people who embrace the concept of The Kamaya. Personalized, intimate, and away from the beaten path. Using our 1970’s US Military Jeep gives an even more unique dimension to these experiences in and around Siem Reap and Angkor.

Family Adventures

One of the highlights during your trip to Siem Reap is a tour through the countryside by jeep. Together with a driver you follow an off the beaten path trail that leads you through amazing Khmer countryside, passing authnetic local villages, paddy fields (in season) and forgotten temples. You don’t just ride around, you also make some nice stops, and along the way you play a round of mini golf, learn how to shoot a bow and arrow, and enjoy local snacks in Preah Dach. For a truly fun time far away from the crowds, you join us for a jeep safari!

The tour includes: Private jeep & driver, entrance fees of mini golf & archery, water & softdrinks, local snacks, donations to local families & homes.

Culinary Adventures

Join your chef at 18:30 hrs for an unforgettable tour along some of Siem Reap’s least known highlights and taste the true flavors of this captivating country. Start the tour with a Khmer cocktail or mocktail in one of the town’s most atmospheric bars. You learn the story behind the “insect culture” and can taste some of Cambodia’s scary delicacies. Your starter is served in the old part of town along the riverside. Follow the trail to a relaxing garden where you enjoy fusion Khmer main courses and end the trip in a popular garden eating chocolate and pinapple springrolls!

Angkor Adventures

The highlight of Cambodia can be visited in many different ways, but no person experiences the temples Angkor truly the way it was meant to be! Join our knowledgable guide and depart at 07:00 hrs by jeep or tuktuk* for the temples. Visit the highlights of the park, but also hidden gems no one knows about. Hike short bits through the forest to get away and connect with nature, finding the opportunity to shoot photos that would make any professional jealous! To complete this experience. enjoy an amazing lunch in a local garden, far from the maddening crowds. Don’t just tick the box of “Angkor”, but do it well, and experience it with us!
